I have not written a blog post for Chinese Album Art web site for a while so here’s one to update you fans of album art (but wait, are there any around.. ha ha).
Anyway I have been busy updating my Chinese music library (and to be fair, even Western music library). The tool I have been using now is Plex, specifically Plex Music. On my iPhone, besides my all time favourite iTunes (or now call Apple Music), I am also using the PlexAmp app as it can play FLAC directly.
And yes all my music files are in FLAC format (if possible, although there are some MP3 in 320kbps due to the lack of a CD to rip or a lossless format in the net….).
But how is that relevant to Chinese Album Art blog. Of course, as per my expectations, all the album art covers must be also be nicely shown in the Plex app ! My hard work in making sure that all album art covers are nicely done for each album must show up nicely on the app !
In addition, there are also artists pages (ie a page for the artist, which I then set up with proper artist.jpg and folder.jpg and fan art.jpg files in the directory.. read more in Patnotebook article).

And in each artist page, there will be a write up (generated by Plex, usually from Last.fm)…. Leslie Gor Gor has FIVE STARS in my library, of course….
And of course, all the albums will be displayed for the artists that you have in the Music Library (I tried to collect all the albums for the artist if possible)… if you don’t have that album, the album will not appear… it is your personal Music Library….

And if you click on each album, you will be taken to the tracks… and there is a fan art at the back of the album….. you can also STAR the album or STAR the tracks you like…. Jay Chou looks nice in his fan art…..
I also made an effort to distinguish between actual albums and singles (my pet peeve….)… like for 李幸倪, she has albums but also singles and EPs… I got most of these information from Wikipedia to know whether an album is a full album or just an EP….
And the Plex library can analyse the albums, and recommend sonically similar or similar artists … quite interesting.. like 梁文音 they will recommend Miss Cute 曾沛慈, or 林凡 etc.
I enjoyed making sure I have all the albums for an artist and this work is always continuing..
