Got myself (in 2026) an iPod 5th generation today (released in 2005 and 2006). Yes.. 20 years later, in year 2026, I crazily bought a iPod 5th generation… from eBay 😂
After some synching with my MacBook Air Music app (yes, it still works in 2026), I found that the album art covers of my iPod 5th generation are not correctly assigned to the songs and albums.
An example of the wrong album art cover : Our dearest (many different versions of the same album king) Show Luo album 罗志祥 独一无二 has 徐若瑄 最爱是V album art cover. OUCH…… even iPod knows…
That was so sad. But after googling around, the solution was to factory reset the iPod (using the RESTORE button in the settings). Then after that, it works. I guess the iPod 5th generation I bought came with some database issues when it was set up by the vendor (specifically a windows iPod). I then reset it to factory settings in a Mac.
Now I am so happy. Album art covers are my thing and very important to me. So I am so glad it is working for even an old iPod 5th generation that I purchased in 2026. Ha ha.
