9522 is the fifth studio album by the Taiwanese singer-songwriter Anpu 安溥 (formerly known by her stage name Deserts Zhang or 张悬). Released in 2022, it marked her first full-length album in a decade following 2012’s Games We Play.
The title “9522” represents the timeline of the songs included—bridging the years 1995 to 2022:
- A “Time Capsule”: The album features 16 tracks, most of which were written by Anpu when she was a teenager (aged 14 to 17) around 1995. Many were popular staples in her early Live House performances but were never officially recorded.
- A New Perspective: Anpu chose to revisit these “raw” adolescent manuscripts with her perspective as a mature artist, refining and producing them for a modern audience.
- Production: The album was produced by her long-time friends and collaborators, Ciacia (Her Xin-sui) and Sandee Chan (Huang Hsiao-chen).
- Major Achievement: The lead single, “The Best of Times” (最好的時光), won the prestigious Song of the Year award at the 34th Golden Melody Awards.
