I love Sam Lee (李圣杰) songs more and more with each passing month. He is a good singer no doubt but the songs that are written for him are so so meaningful. Today I want to talk about 你们要快乐 which is the 6th song in the 1994 album 绝对痴心 手放开. I have one advice. If you are in love or fallen out of love or just want to try out his songs, this is THE album to buy !! 🙂

In this song, he sang of an ex-girlfriend who returned bracelet to him (what’s up with girls.. they liked to return things to you when they break off ? Credit Cards, Diamond Rings, Laptops….). And has also been avoiding him recently. The reason is that the girl has fallen in love with his friend and feel that she has let him down (so why do it !).
Yet he sang of his hope for their happiness (hence the title of the song 你们要快乐 = You two must be happy together) and how he hopes they can be together. How he felt that there is no wrong (Wow.. cool) since love is free and should be so. And how he would sad if she is not happy in the relationship. That a man who loves a woman should not see his loved one be lonely.
How I understood the song. And you can literally cry with song if you are out of love. Trust me.. I had that….
